Privacy policy
Garden Innovations Ltd. Last updated: June 2026.
Garden Innovations Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website https://www.upgradeyourgarden.co.uk (the “Website”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you visit our Website or submit an enquiry.
1. Who we are. Garden Innovations Ltd is a garden design and landscaping company based in Leicestershire, UK. Company number: 12306325 (Registered in England and Wales). Registered address: 4 Ratcliffe Rd, Sileby, Loughborough LE12 7PZ, United Kingdom. Data Controller contact: contact@upgradeyourgarden.co.uk.
2. Information we collect
We only collect personal data when you voluntarily submit it via the contact/enquiry form embedded on our Website. The information typically includes:
- Name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Any details you choose to include in your message (e.g. address or project details)
We use a privacy-friendly analytics service (Dotwall Monitor) to understand how visitors find and use the Website. It does not use advertising cookies, does not build cross-site profiles, and does not collect any directly-identifying personal data. It does store an anonymous visitor ID and session ID in your browser's local storage so that repeat visits within the same browser are counted once, which is a similar mechanism to cookies under UK PECR. Page views, the page that referred you, your approximate country (derived from IP at the time of the request and not retained), and which form fields you interact with (field NAMES only, never the values you type) are recorded. The continued-browsing notice and our cookie banner together act as your soft consent for this analytics. See section 11 below for opt-out.
3. Third-party services we use
- Netlify (web hosting and form delivery infrastructure) – Hosts the static Website and processes contact form submissions via a serverless function. Netlify may log standard request data (IP address, user agent, request path) for security and abuse prevention. See https://www.netlify.com/privacy/.
- Resend (transactional email) – When you submit the contact form, the lead is delivered to contact@upgradeyourgarden.co.uk via Resend. The data sent is limited to the fields you entered in the form. See https://resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Dotwall Monitor (privacy-friendly site analytics, processor) – Receives anonymous page-view and form-interaction events from this Website on our behalf. No cookies, no advertising trackers, no cross-site tracking. Hosted at monitor.dotwall.co.uk by Dotwall.
- Google Fonts – Fonts are loaded from Google's servers. Google may receive your IP address when fonts are requested. See https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- OpenStreetMap / CARTO – The interactive maps on our location and coverage pages load tiles from openstreetmap.org and carto.com. Your IP address is visible to those services when tiles are requested. See https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.
4. How we use your information
We only use the information you provide through the contact form for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiry or provide a quotation
- To arrange consultations or site visits
- To perform the garden design, installation, or maintenance services you request
We do not use your data for marketing unless you explicitly opt in (we currently do not send marketing emails or newsletters).
5. Legal basis for processing
- Responding to your enquiry and providing a quote: Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
- Performing a contract for garden design/landscaping services: Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
- If you give explicit consent for marketing in the future: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
6. How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry data only for as long as necessary to fulfil your request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of follow-up questions or complaints (normally no longer than 12 months). If you become a customer, project-related data is kept for 7 years to meet tax and legal requirements.
7. Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to:**
- Access your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Request erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent (where applicable)
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk)
To exercise any of these rights, please email contact@upgradeyourgarden.co.uk
8. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures (SSL encryption, restricted access, secure UK/EU hosting) to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration.
9. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
We do not use advertising or social-tracking cookies. The only persistent client-side storage on this Website is set by Dotwall Monitor (see section 2): an anonymous visitor ID and session ID kept in your browser's localStorage. Your acceptance of the on-site notice acts as soft consent for this. To opt out, see section 11.
11. How to opt out of analytics
You can opt out of Dotwall Monitor analytics at any time using any of the following methods: (a) enable “Do Not Track” in your browser; (b) clear your browser's site data for upgradeyourgarden.co.uk to remove the stored visitor and session IDs; (c) use a browser-level content blocker that blocks requests to monitor.dotwall.co.uk; or (d) email contact@upgradeyourgarden.co.uk and ask us to confirm exclusion.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with the “Last updated” date at the top.
